Fiona Littleton and Austin Tate will make the adjustments. Experimentation with group deeded land will be done by Fiona and Austin also, to see if this allows more flexibility over land use by groups. Plans for Vue Region -------------------- A report was provided by Naomi Nunn on proposals from an Alumni & Development funded island tentatively called "Edinburgh University". David Richardson reported on proposals for an Informatics island tentatively called "Edinburgh Informatics". Alumni & Development are also considering a proposal by Austin Tate that they fund an extension to the shared Vue facilities tentatively called "Vue East" along with 4 "open space" islands (4 such areas costing the same as one normal island, and having a limit of 1,800 prims on each versus 15,000 on a normal island). "Vue East" - Extension to shared Vue facilities, to concentrate on Alumni, Development and central offices. "Edinburgh University" - island to promote and reflect real architecture and locations of University "Edinburgh Informatics" - for School of Informatics specific activities There was a desire by Alumni & Development to use "Edinburgh" related names for the new facilities. Vue realted naming being used for the islands for new teaching, research and other activities in Second Life. Use of low prim "open space" sim squares are to connect islands in interesting ways, allow for more rural areas and experimental activities, and allow physical movement. The previous regional maps were re-examined and adjusted a little. The latest proposal adopted for guidance is at http://vue.ed.ac.uk/sl/plan/vue-2007-06-07-region-plan.jpg Next Steps ---------- Naomi Nunn was encouraged to progress the Vue East and open reach islands as soon as possible to allow VRPA to allocate spaces sensibly to those requesting plots to date. Fiona Littleton and Austin Tate will arrange deed of group land to the groups themselves - which appears to need to be done by the island owner. James Stewart will speak with Anne-Marie Scott to try to get logins available for Vue mailing list members to access the Vue Wiki, which is otherwise ready to use. Date of Next Meeting -------------------- To be arranged by e-mail.
