Vue Island Some Planning Ideas - 12-Mar-2007 Austin Tate Type 1 Base Shape Stage 1 - Terraforming ---------------------- Extend SW towards corner of sim to connect by bridge to adjacent (related) island and to offer more coastline. Create Lagoon spit in NE. Create recreation island off NE. Hollow out depression in top of hill to create amphitheatre. Add Linden water to E end of depression (swimmable), with bubbling hot spring and steam (with relax pose balls) to SE corner, stream outlet with stepping stones to HE with cascade over hill side between rocks to stream flowing to sea. Stage 2 - Shared infrastructure Building ---------------------------------------- Add Bridge over steam near sea. Add amphitheatre seating areas ("sit" for avatars works) Add stage and walkway area over reflecting pool with Presentation/image/flikr/streamed media feed screens behind. Add recreation/demonstration facilities in NE area. E.g. waves, coral lagoon, diving, jet skis, scripted sunbathing, picnic tables, skydive. Stage 3 - Initial Zone development ----------------------------------- Welcome Vue - Reception, sign posting hub, art sculptures, link to InSpace "Inreach" - possible Alumni area. Central Zone - Tall rise blocks for all island organisations. One "condo" style building for temporary allocations to newcomer schools, institutes or projects. E.g. see building from "Midtown". Consider unique architecture eventually. Allocate suitable sections of ground level to various organisations. Art space. Stage 4 - Sky Buildings ----------------------- Ground Vue - as above e-Learning Vue - 200m - Class rooms, teaching and course related work. Enterprise Vue - 400m - Sky mall, enterprise associates, etc. Sandbox Vue - 600m - for experimentation. Might level areas over limited areas of the island... say central area and SW quadrant and not above the recreation area to allow for skydive, flights, etc. Management & Area Group Deeds ----------------------------- Island ought to be owned by some one active within development team to asist in changing permissions and other matters. Not an administrator. Establish suitable groups to deed land to.. with some one on core etam in each grpoup as an office to assist in management of the overall island.
